Building a new home is always special but when returning clients invite you back more than a decade later to be part of their next project, it makes it even more meaningful.
At Glass Worx Ltd, we recently had the pleasure of supplying and installing triple glazed Internorm windows and doors for two stunning new-build homes in Kilmacolm, just outside Glasgow.
What made this project particularly special was the story behind it two homes built side by side for parents and their son’s family both with an incredible eye for architectural design and detail.
A Project 12 Years in the Making
Our relationship with these clients goes back over 12 years, when we first supplied the windows and doors for their previous home.
The clients were so impressed with the performance, quality, and design of Internorm products that when the time came to plan their new builds, there was no question about which glazing system they would choose.
This time, however, the specification evolved to suit the modern architectural vision for both homes.
The Chosen Systems: Internorm Triple Glazing
For this project, the homeowners selected a combination of uPVC aluminium-clad windows and timber aluminium sliding doors from Internorm.

The majority of the windows installed were Internorm uPVC aluminium-clad systems, chosen for their excellent performance and design flexibility.

While most of the windows were specified in uPVC aluminium-clad systems, the living spaces in both homes feature a different solution.
Each house incorporates HS330 timber aluminium lift-and-slide doors, one of Internorm’s most impressive architectural glazing systems.
These doors provide:

- Seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces
- Excellent thermal performance
- Premium timber interior finish
Positioned in the main living rooms, these large sliding doors maximise natural light while framing the outdoor views beautifully.

Both properties feature striking brickwork paired with anthracite grey aluminium finishes, creating a bold yet timeless exterior.
The contrast between the warm brick tones and the sleek glazing systems works beautifully, giving the homes a modern architectural character while still sitting comfortably within their surroundings.
Despite being built right beside each other, the homes have been thoughtfully designed to maintain a high level of privacy, allowing both families to enjoy their spaces independently.

Every element, materials, glazing, layout, and finishes, has been considered carefully, resulting in two homes that feel both luxurious and incredibly welcoming.
